Mark Bradley
Mark has been playing guitar now for more than 30 years. "Yeah, it seems like just yesterday I picked my Dad's old nylon string Spanish guitar and started plucking away. From that point on, I was addicted!" He points out that he originally started with drums. "I bought a Ludwig mother of Pearl Beatles style set when I was 13, and played like crazy for a couple of years. But I never played with a band. I really learned a great deal about rhythm and how important it is to any music." He eventually (and regrettably) sold the set to a touring jazz drummer, and bought himself a '71 Gibson SG. "The dealer gave me the guitar, case, and a vox solid state 212 amp for $180.00. I used my money from selling the drum set and had my first electric guitar."

Mark's musical influences were varied. His parents often listened to the classic crooners of the 40's and on, from Nat King Cole to Perry Como to Barbara Streisand. They also loved Big band sounds and Jazz. As a high school kid, Bradley was more attracted to heavy rock such as Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, and The Allman Brothers. It was only later that he discovered the blues music that he loves so much. "I was into the powerful rockin' bands of the 1960's and 1970's. Once I began to listen to more blues I realized that these bands used blues as their foundation. So I turned to more blues music and new THIS WAS IT!" Guitar driven blues was where Mark shined. He never plays the same solo twice. "I have a few signature riffs here and there, like any guitar player, but I never play a defined solo in most of my songs. I play what feels right at the time."

Bradley also found his niche for writing music over the years. "I have written probably 1000 songs, no lie! Some, of course were not really very good! [laughs] Playing in cover bands is lots of fun, but playing what I create is even more satisfying." He admits that he is still at the tip of the proverbial iceberg. "Our new CD 'I Lie Awake' isn't pure blues. It is a collection of tunes that our band has either written or was influenced by. It is a great snapshot of where we are now. Our band continues to evolve and we are having a ball!"
